FAMILY OFFICE SPECIAL PROJECTS

Wealth Preservation/Estate Planning
  • Assist in, establish and implement wealth preservation, philanthropic and family legacy goals.
  • Comprehensive write-up of entire financial picture for estate planning and business continuation/succession planning purposes in the event of death or disability.
  • Assist with prenuptial, dissolution and adoption agreements including the preparation of financial disclosures.
Household Staffing and Internal Family Office Management
  • Design and review internal control procedures to ensure best practices are being maintained.
  • Assist in salary and deferred compensation benchmarks and contracts.
  • Manage household employees including benefit plan structure and implementation, recruiting, security background checks, attending staff meetings and termination packages.
  • Work with legal counsel to develop confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements for household staff and independent contractors.
Fine Arts
  • Assist with obtaining valuations of personal property for insurance, donation and tax purposes.
  • Assist with fine art purchases including analysis of sales and use tax consideration and importation of art from abroad.
Investment Services
  • Interface with outside investment advisors.
  • Provide comprehensive investment performance reports.
  • Interface with investment companies to facilitate capital calls and distributions for private equity investments.
Insurance/Valuations
  • Interface with insurance brokers to ensure adequate insurance coverage including excess liability. Also coordinate with insurance agency when losses occur.
  • Obtain medical, emergency transport and trip interruption insurance.
Private Jet and Vehicle Ownership
  • Coordinate the purchase, financing and tax structure for corporate and private jet ownership, including sales and use tax considerations.
  • Analysis of various forms of partial jet ownership, i.e. fractional shares, jet cards and/or charter, to determine most cost effective option.
  • Assist with vehicle acquisitions including lease vs. buy analysis
Real Estate
  • Assist with real estate purchases, sales and/or exchanges in both the United States and abroad.
  • Work with legal counsel and county tax assessor's office to appeal real property tax valuations.
  • Coordinate with general contractors and interior designers to assist with remodeling and new home construction in the United States and abroad, including budget tracking and change order reconciliation.
Trust Administration
  • Provide trust administration services.
  • Provide guidelines on structure and formation of private trust companies including interfacing with various legal and government agencies.
  • Work with legal counsel to establish and maintain charitable trusts and private foundations including tax planning and compliance.
